Running for 12 months, these programs are currently offered in high-demand fields such as accounting, computer science, and engineering.
Professional Year Programs are particularly beneficial for students aiming to apply for permanent residency in Australia. They equip students with industry-specific skills through a combination of study and practical work experience, preparing them for professional careers in the Australian workforce. It’s important to note that only government-approved Professional Year Programs are recognized by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP).

Eligibility for a Professional Year Program
To be eligible for a Professional Year Program, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Degree completion: Hold a degree in accounting, computer science, engineering, or a closely related field from an Australian university.
- Visa requirements: Possess a Skilled — Graduate (Temporary) Visa (subclass 485), allowing you to stay in Australia for 18 months post-graduation. Eligibility for this visa includes being under 50 years old, having completed an eligible qualification within the last six months following at least two years of study in Australia, and possessing the necessary skills and qualifications for an occupation on the Skilled Occupation List.
Engineering graduates who have completed their degrees at recognized institutions outside Australia can also participate in a Professional Year Program in engineering. They must apply for a Skilled — Recognised Graduate (Temporary) Visa (subclass 476).
