Enhance Your Career with a Professional Year Program through Eway Consulting

A Professional Year Program (PYP) is a structured professional development initiative that combines formal learning and workplace experience for international graduates from Australian universities. Running for 12 months, these programs are currently offered in high-demand fields such as accounting, computer science, and engineering.

Professional Year Programs are particularly beneficial for students aiming to apply for permanent residency in Australia. They equip students with industry-specific skills through a combination of study and practical work experience, preparing them for professional careers in the Australian workforce. It’s important to note that only government-approved Professional Year Programs are recognized by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP).

Benefits of Completing a Professional Year Program

Participating in a Professional Year Program offers numerous advantages:

  • Gaining valuable work experience: Internships provide hands-on experience in an Australian company.
  • Understanding Australian workplace culture: Learn about the professional culture and practices in Australia.
  • Enhancing communication skills: Develop professional communication skills specific to the Australian workplace.
  • Earning additional points for visa applications: Receive five extra points on the DIBP ‘points test’ when applying for a Skilled Independent (subclass 189) visa.
